Learning to Eat: Being in Energetic Harmony with the Food You Consume
Eating is our most primal survival instinct. But what if we've been doing it wrong most of our lives? Does such an incredibly complex process require more than just chewing and swallowing? Do our thoughts, actions, and emotions while eating have any bearing on how well or poorly our food is metabolised?
Who taught you to eat? Your gut is not a garburator
The old adage "you are what you eat" is profound. It sums up in just a few words one of the most complex biological miracles the body accomplishes over and over again, day in, day out. But did you ever stop to think about what's really going on? From the moment you smell food, your body starts producing the correct enzymes needed to break down that specific food. Some of those enzymes are in the saliva in our mouth, and the combination of chewing begins the process of breaking down and metabolising the food we eat as soon as it passes our lips.
It then goes down the throat to the highly acidic environment in our stomach, for further processing. From there it starts making its way through our long and windy small bowel for further breakdown and uptake of nutrients into the body. Finally, after an hours long journey, it reaches the large intestine, where further processing produces the waste our body excretes once everything the body needs from the food has been has been extracted.
Emotional eating
While this journey may seem like a fairly straight forward mechanical process, we have a deep emotional connection with our food and the way we integrate food with our selves should not be taken for granted; or else it can spell trouble. One must be in harmony with what they are eating in order to fully metabolise it and integrate it into their cells. This is related to energy integration; after all, one of humanity's smartest - Nikola Tesla - said that "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration." This holds true for how the energy stored in what we eat is unlocked and interacts with our own energy. What you do and think while consuming the food you eat can also positively or negatively impact your body's ability to fully integrate the energy stored in the food.
Tips for optimal digestion and absorption of nutrients
When eating any meal, first make sure that you're stationary. Focus on correct posture, so that the abdomen is not folded while eating.
Over-stimulating the mind, or eating under stress or during a state of worry or anxiety will create brainwaves and energy not conducive to proper breakdown of food and extraction of its nutrients and energy. It's best not to eat while doing other activities.
Be in harmony with what you eat: Enjoy what you're eating! Savour every bite. And be grateful for the abundance of nutrients and energy it is providing your body. This mental state will allow for open and smooth integration and transition of energy from the food passing into your cells.
First hand versus second hand energy
We must recognise that all that grows and lives on this planet is first and foremost due to the energy provided by the sun. That applies to everything from simply microscopic life, plants, and animals. When a plant grows it uses photosynthesis to convert sunlight into carbohydrate energy. This energy is stored in the build of the plat itself. Think about the tough broccoli stem or the spinach leaf. When an animal consumes this plant it unlocks the stored energy in order to build it's own struct through integration of nutrients, carbs, fats, proteins etc.
So when we consume a plant we are consuming sunlight - or first hand energy. When we consume an animal we are still consuming that same stored sunlight but as second hand energy that has run through and been stored in the animal's flesh. Therefore it is recommended to integrate clean energy in the form of plants produced by sunlight over second hand energy stored in the flesh of an animal, which includes many unwanted contaminants such as synthetic growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics, and more.
